WHAT IS THE MODEL REMODEL? 

Located in Albuquerque, N.M., this year’s Model Remodel is a 1950s-era Mossman-Gladden home. The house is being detailed from concept to completion in 2020, the sixth year for Professional Remodeler’s program of start-to-finish online coverage of remodeling projects.

In a nostalgic twist, the residence is also the homeowner’s childhood home, and the remodelers plan to modernize the home while keeping true to the original personality. The exterior renovation will include a new entry door, 11 fiberglass windows, and a covered patio with an indoor-outdoor connection. Interior work will feature a new gas fireplace insert; an upgraded ventilation system; and an interior refresh including wood shiplap accent walls, new floors, and custom shower systems in two of the three bathrooms.
